My love, like …

my love likeAnother in the series of love poems I wrote in 1988.

My love, like the wind,
     flows through all.
My love, like the ocean,
     encompasses a large expance.
My love, like the sun,
     warms me through
          and through.
My love, like sand,
     is infinite, or
          seemingly so.
My love,
     my lover,
          my everything …
     where are you?
My love, like air
     is everywhere
          and finite
My love, like dreams
     is real
          and unreal.
My love, take me
     in your arms
     whisk me away!
     Take me to where
     I’ll never want
     to return from.
My love, like riddles,
     answers but
          answers not.

  • I Stand Alone

This was written May 18, 1984. I stand alone, as I always will. Friends come and go, but all the while I stand alone. Just a molecule of air, am I, tossed about by the wind. I see, and know,           and love                others but they go and I see, know and love                more. Always there…
