My love, like …

my love likeAnother in the series of love poems I wrote in 1988.

My love, like the wind,
     flows through all.
My love, like the ocean,
     encompasses a large expance.
My love, like the sun,
     warms me through
          and through.
My love, like sand,
     is infinite, or
          seemingly so.
My love,
     my lover,
          my everything …
     where are you?
My love, like air
     is everywhere
          and finite
My love, like dreams
     is real
          and unreal.
My love, take me
     in your arms
     whisk me away!
     Take me to where
     I’ll never want
     to return from.
My love, like riddles,
     answers but
          answers not.

  • The Box

Written in 1985. I’m in a box. I’ve been here a long time. There’s no way out. All eight corners are the same. All six sides have been scrutinized. I stare in hopes that I might see something new. Maybe there are pores with minute creatures living inside. If I look long enough maybe I…

I received a box of Leadership window cards this week. There are 30 in a pack and you are supposed to open one each day. The first one I opened said “Turn toward the fear.” That phrase inspired today’s haiku. Turn toward the fear Face it with courage and grace Remove fear’s power Originally posted…
