I Survived!

Over the weekend, I had to go on a special diet due to a procedure I had to undergo on Tuesday. Saturday and Sunday, I had to cut out all fresh (and canned) fruits and vegetables. On Monday, I could only consume clear liquids. (Guess what? Sprite is not filling!)

That afternoon, the fun began. I started the laxatives to clean my colon for the colonoscopy on Tuesday morning.

I don’t know how bulimics do it. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on anyone. My stomach still hurts.

Interesting thing, though. Out of curiosity, I weighed myself both Monday and Tuesday morning. On Monday, I weighed 195lbs. The next morning, I was only 190lbs. I guess I carry around 5lbs of crap! 😉

But, of course, I followed the Nutrisystem plan from Wednesday on and I weighed in at 193 this morning. But that’s still good news – I lost 2lbs this week!

For those of you who don’t know, a colonoscopy is an examination of the large intestine using a long, flexible tube with a light and camera lens at the end, called a colonoscope. Basically, the doctor sticks a camera up your butt to take a look around to make sure everything is O.K. Turns out, I’m O.K.

Let me wipe…

I wrote this entry in my Random Thoughts journal on July 19, 1999. What is reality, really? How does one determine what is truth? Sometimes, when I’m walking the dog at night, I look up, watch the tangerine clouds move across the periwinkle sky and think, “This doesn’t look real. It looks more like painted…

Nothing riles me more than being accused of something I have not done. For example, when I was in college I was playing a game of Scruples with my roommate and her friends. The basis of the games is a set of cards, each with a morally ambiguous situation. As each person takes their turn,…
