The last orange rays sparkle serenely upon the ocean. The laughing call of gulls fades. The water plays a game of now-I’m-here-now-I’m-not with the shore. A young couple sits in each other’s arms taking in the once-in-a-lifetime beauty of the sunset. A slight breeze plays across their hair.

Suddenly she gets up, her long, brown hair momentarily brushing across his handsome face. He still holds her hands as she stands in front of him.

“Let’s run along the beach,” she suggests, gently tugging at his hands. She lets go of them and gracefully springs into a slow run towards the water. She’s laughing, replacing the sounds of life the gulls had taken with them.
